Brain Vision LLC is a US company that sells and supports neurophysiological research solutions. We are a midsized company established in 2004 as a subsidiary of Brain Products GmbH, and we have many exceptional partners around the world including Brain Products, EasyCap, CGX, BESA, Cortivision, CREmedical, movisens, neuroCare, PST, and many more.

Brain Vision LLC strives to provide researchers with the best tools and support to address their research goals. As the US distributor of state-of-the-art neurophysiological research solutions, our goal is to help our customers become more successful in their research areas.

We are headquartered in the Raleigh / Durham Triangle area of North Carolina, but many of our team members work remotely from other locations in the US within a short distance to research hubs and major airports. We have a friendly team atmosphere and advanced cloud-based tools essential for remaining connected with the team and our customers while working remotely.

Associate Scientific Consultant / Full-Time

The Associate Scientific Consultant position serves primarily on the Sales Team for customers located at the national and international level (including the USA and Germany), and with some logistics duties. This is a technical sales role that requires extensive training during the first year. The core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Engage with potential new and existing customers professionally via email, phone, video conferencing, and in-person visits (when we resume travel), including at the national and international level
  • Provide our customers with technical consultation and quotes for which solution(s) would best apply to their research and budgetary goals
  • Maintain proficiency with the most common equipment from our manufacturers; deliver training and first level support for these tools to researchers and their labs
  • Assist customers through institution purchasing procedures, including submitting bid responses
  • Represent Brain Vision Solutions Inc. professionally at conferences (e.g., SfN, SPR, CNS, VSS, SLEEP)
  • Coordinate and lead product demonstrations, trainings/installations, and workshops
  • Travel up to 35% of the time (when we resume travel); most demos and trainings are currently conducted remotely
  • Follow up in a timely and caring manner with leads from conferences and web requests
  • Collaborate in a team-oriented manner with all Brain Vision Solutions Inc. departments
  • Constructively communicate with our suppliers regarding potential solution improvements
  • Verify, test, and re-stock loan or support returns from customers
  • Physically receive inventory, accurately entering quantity received and recording serial numbers as necessary
  • Pack shipments and prepare shipping documents including packing lists, bill of lading, airway bills, commercial invoices, and shipping labels for domestic and international shipments
  • Assist with inventory counts
  • Comfortably and repeatedly lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs (34kg)
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders

Requirements:

  • A degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field (Masters or Ph.D. preferred)
  • Minimum of two (2) years working in a neuroscience research lab (or a related field)
  • Experience collecting and/or processing neurophysiological data (preferably EEG, but fNIRS, fMRI, MEG, eye tracking, and peripheral physiology are also acceptable)
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Attention to detail, solution-oriented, and team player mindset
  • Competency with Microsoft Office365, and other common programs
  • Ability to simply describe and compare/contrast highly technical scientific topics (written and spoken English is mandatory, written and spoken proficiency in French is considered a strong asset)
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada; work visa sponsorship is not offered for this position
  • A valid driver’s license; must be authorized to legally drive in Canada and able to rent a vehicle. This is necessary for business travel to customer trainings, support visits, conferences or demonstrations.

Additional preferred qualifications include:

  • Published EEG or other neurophysiological experimental analyses in a peer reviewed journal
  • Multi-modal data collection and/or processing experience (e.g. EEG/fMRI, EEG/fNIRS, EEG/TMS, EEG/eye-tracking, Motion Tracking/EMG, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more programming languages
  • Experience with EEG equipment from Brain Products and/or other manufacturers

Associate Technical Support Engineer/Full-Time

The Associate Technical Support Engineer position serves on the Support Team, and reports to the Scientific Sales Director. This position collaborates with Scientific Consultants, the Admin team, and Logistics to deliver excellent customer service to customers in need of technical service and support. This position requires extensive hands-on training with scientific equipment during the first year. The core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and document issues with equipment sent into our office for testing.
  • Repair and update equipment as necessary. Soldering may be required.
  • Communicate and document testing and repairs within shared company software platforms.
  • Occasionally interface directly with customers via email, phone, or video chat to remotely troubleshoot and address issues.
  • Assist in developing and refining troubleshooting flowcharts to be used internally and/or externally.
  • Stay up to date with manufacturer documentation (read manuals and press releases, watch videos and webinars); follow the latest testing and repair protocols.
  • Assist the Marketing Team with producing internal and external support documentation materials, including scripting and executing photo/video shoots.
  • Occasionally join Scientific Consultants on lab installation and training visits at customer sites assisting with technical setup and troubleshooting in person.
  • Assist the Support Admin in managing the Support workflow, workload, and participate in Support Team meetings.
  • Assist with collecting data and statistics about support requests.
  • Occasionally join the Scientific Consultant meetings to stay up to date about equipment changes and customer usage patterns.


Requirements:

  • Experience using and maintaining sensitive electronic equipment.
  • Basic Electrical Engineering experience.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Attention to detail, solution-oriented, and team player mindset.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office365, and other common programs.
  • Ability to understand, translate, and document highly technical topics into plain written and spoken English (fluency in English).
  • Currently authorized to work in the US.
  • A valid US driver’s license; must be authorized to legally drive in the US and able to rent a vehicle. This is necessary of business travel to customer trainings, support visits, conferences or demonstrations.
